    Its not features that will keep people in, its stability, better server performance. You log in to check the new stuff and run into the same issues the game has had for the past years, so you log out and wait another semester, but they dont seem to understand this.

    NMS is still okay. People are saying how great it is as if its game of the decade. Its still a sometimes boring grindfest with a half asses narrative. Most of the people enjoying this game are veterans who can afford to experience the new content.

    This probably won't release, or if it does, not until after 1B+ dollar have been put into the game (and the higher ups pockets) and it will be very pretty, insanely boring and buggy af with shit performance on a RTX 7090. They are stealing your money ffs. Exit scam comes to mind...

    It isn't just CIG that struggles with messaging. Working for a major software company I can tell you that this happens on every piece of major software. SC is doing fine.

    In the last couple updates the game became almost unplayable for me. Super leggy tons of disconnects are a big reason I have not been playing very much. I hadn't had an issue with this for a while with the pc I was using but I have built a beast of a pc now so Maybe I will give it a go again some time.

    Dude, look at the people that are tasked with designing the missions. One of the main guys is a kid that ONLY seems to be interested/knowledgeable about combat. CIG has no interest/capacity to design anything but combat missions.

    Well this my opinion … and I love the game btw. But I always felt the team is lazy, not working hard enough. Server meshing is not new. Static server meshing is in many game these days. Dynamic server meshing is another thing and is hard to pull off I understand. But man … as time flys all the narrative about " they are doing something impossible etc etc it’s such a big thing bla bla " looses its value over time. I own many ship, expensive ones and well… My point is they seems to be a lazy team and putting too much effort in cinematic and shows and all that. Not in the actual game

    Remove master modes and you instantly get a better gameplay experience. There are way too many keybinds for no reason now which makes new and returning players feel really overwhelmed and makes the experience really negative. I fall in the returning player category and I felt embarrassed showing my gf the game I was telling her I used to play that was so unbelievable and amazing only to boot up the game and not even being able to go faster than SCM speed or quantum travel because everything is different for no reason. Being different isn’t inherently a bad thing but it feels bloated and unnecessary complicated with essential keybinds not even assigned by default.

AI and new Cpu and Gpu technologies will make Game development so Much easier i say Games Like star Citizen will be mid level in 2035 , Ai will Push game development to a whole New Level , i now see in 2035 EA Microsoft ubisoft will be on fire in a very bad way and a Whole new type of wild fire will smack Game developers into a new Y2k . Now star Citizen is going to be the Last true Golden Age of Pc Gaming .

    when you realize it was just a business all along, and like any business the goal was separating you from your dollars while maximizing their value- providing as little as possible in return to keep the maximum amount of dollars flowing in. shocking. a business acting like a business and doing what businesses do. Thankfully I'm only out $45, and I buy every ship every wipe- thanks to duping bugs that have been around since I started in 3.16. Only a fool buys anything beyond a starter pack. In that context it's pretty good value for money tbh.

    People keep viewing and commenting on Star Citizen as if its a much further along, released product instead of the work in progress thats still seeing baseline structural tech being worked on to support what they intend in the future. CIG Marketing is largely to blame, but also people trying to bring friends in, streamers, and then the backers themselves. This has been the major problem with the fact that it has been a fairly transparent and interactive project from early on. They made the profound mistake of allowing people to play it as its developed and most people cant differentiate between a work in progress and completed product. "Oh it loads and I can play some of it, therefore it needs all these QoL details, and the loops are trash" when thats not the point we're at in development. CIG did an honorable thing and people are too development illiterate to follow. Tomato, please dont keep adding to clickbait, you're better than this (or thats what I need to keep believing as I watch all the others slip into garbage clickbait vids)

    I am one just waiting. I got tired of losing my progress, ships blowing up, and a traffic accident that nearly killed me and has kept me from using my racing/flight/space simulator, I am just playing the wait and see approach. I did the same with No Mans Sky, but I like where it is today, and am having fun playing.

    Well, what i`ve seen in 2024 are The greatest improvements to the game since i have been playing at least.... i see it more like a resurgence after a long pause..... If they really achieve server meshing and pyro (patch 4.0) this year, this will be the most important year for the game since it was launched.

    I've been playing for epochs and ill say this. I have to an extent lost interest in actually playing until certain features come along. I've played the current PTU and Ill say that although the new local inventory system is cumbersome it in conjunction with the persistent hangers I've been able to pre-load boxes with gear loadouts so that with a small time investment I'm able to pre-organize loadouts that I can grab and go upon death. I will say however its disappointing that we cannot have persistent hangers on places other than home planets because in order to reap the benefit I need to deal with the tedium of spawning on the planets, using a tram and entering my hanger. I'm sincerely disappointed that there is no feature for being able to set spawn in hangers at the very least to circumnavigate all the tedium they've added. Lastly I was severely disappointed to see them remove pledge store item retrieval from the roadmap. It seemed to be a relatively simple thing to implement and I'm sure that the primary reason as to why It got dropped was out of concerns relating to pledge item duping/credit flipping but a stopgap such as making them be unable to be sold, or price the reclaim to be higher than what a store would purchase the item for. They most of the bundles for FPS gear on sale while the card was up, they persisted on sale until after the card was dropped from the roadmap and that genuinely hurt my trust in CIG because it felt like a bait and switch to sell large volumes of low price pledge store items that already weren't receiving many purchases (why would you purchase them otherwise if you risk loosing them permanently till the next wipe?) I still occasionally play and check in but I'm finding it harder and harder to trust CIG to deliver and I sincerely want to be proven otherwise.

    I've decided I'm done waiting and hoping. I sold my account last week. Good riddance. We're 8 months into "shifting all devs back to the PU" and we've got a whole lotta nothing to show for it. And I was a very different person when I first backed. I was all into the hardcore PvP stuff. Not so much any more. And they keep leaning harder and harder on that. I'm over it. I _might_ check out Squadron, assuming it ever actually happens, and it actually works and isn't a dumpster fire. But that's it.

    @5:30 New account creations were down 22% last year from 2022. Year to date 2024 is down a whopping 40% from August 2023, so for all the strained efforts to explain it's normal there is a deep and durable multi-year downtrend in new accounts. I can't speak to the underlying reasons for everybody but as a day 1 backer I'm just so tired of incomplete alpha quality software getting shoved out on to live near the end of the 12th year of development. When I try to listen to ISC the devs are still saying things like 'we might, we could, we may someday' when discussing even the gameplay in pyro stations. For the use of 300k USD per day of development they don't seem to have much of a plan, let alone much of a cadence of delivery. At this rate it's going to be a retro game before it comes out.

    Personally speaking the Overdrive/Xenothreat event burnt me out a lot. Having the rewards tied to finishing an event that refused to work for me 90% of the time left a bitter taste, all my attempts left me with little money so now I can barely repair or restock. On top of that I didn't even get any rewards for my troubles. Oh, and inventory is just not working 99.999% of the time. Even when it works at spawn I can't loot anything anymore, boxes don't open or won't let me drag items out of them. Makes every destination wayyyy less fun to explore.

    Well said. I started this ride at the age of 36 when they led me to expect it would release when I was between 37 and 39. I'm closing in on 47. They're going to have to do better than long queues to leave our hangars and another 8 years of cluster f'd development stumbles.

    I stopped playing when they turned the flight model into a mobile game, and doubled down on it. instead of solving the problems the old flight model had, they simply deleted it, and replaced it with something worse. press a button and you are immediately at scm speed, press the gear button and you’re immediately at walking speeds. no need to be able to fly at all anymore. I used to be able to see past all the crap and bugs in sc, because flying (decoupled) was fun. well, it’s no longer. So the crap and bugs and mess of the game now has nothing to outweigh it anymore. No idea how a 750 million $ project can have people in charge of the fm and weapons who keep dropping the ball for almost a decade now and are still in charge of it…

    My biggest concern is the amount of time that you have to spend preparing and doing everything in which they just seem to keep adding more, and more to. It shouldn't take 15-25 minutes to log in get into New Babbage and get to your ship, to further take another 2-5 minutes to get into atmosphere then another 5-20 minutes (based on your drive) just to get to the planet you're trying to get to. This isn't including mission times. It's bad enough I can't expect to get anything done on SC during a normal work day unless I have a weekend to play. This is something they will have to address sooner or later. Cargo Elevators and systems of the sort just added more steps. You cannot access your armor or weapons from your room anymore. Loading your ship full of cargo while I feel is a good addition to the game they will have to somehow increase the rewards for taking these steps. Back when Hull munching was introduced I felt it was broken because of how easy it was. At the same time it kept me coming back over and over again because I knew for the amount of time I was investing in it (1-3 hours on a week day closer to 6ish on weekends) and I was still making progress. As of this current patch for the amount that I can make has been reduced so much I don't even go out on quests anymore. I often find myself losing more money (I started with 2 mil this patch and I'm down to 200k now) from refueling or my ship blowing up after having attempted to do some salvaging with my Reclaimer, bounty missions take far to long to progress in for the amount you make back from them. While you can run cargo there is no guarantee the station/location you're going to even needs that cargo. This is another major issue, and without exploring a 3rd party site you have no idea if or not you're making money/losing money or just wasting your time in general.
